Victorian State Titles 2010

race report statetitles 2010 frankston by Gary Morgan
after a lot of rain we arrived at the track with our flippers only to find the track in good condition, with non stop drizzle we went out for practice on day 1 of the cruiser's and yes we got soaked! from the first moto JORDAN dominated his class winning by 2 seconds in some moto,s for a convincing victory in the 19/24 CRUISER with COREY backing him up with a solid 7th in his first titles.

on the 20" JORDAN again dominated the field for a clear win in the final of what was one of his best sates to date, COREY had a few good battles to finish the day in 14th on his 20" GARY found the start slippery so as most riders did holding back on the first ew cranks was the way to go, with good motos and second in the semihe ended up in gate 8 for the final passing Trevor Stamford for second was a good result to finish his time in the 40/44 CRUISER and a good start was all that was needed to take the win in the in the 20" final with WAYNE riding great and coming home for a creditable 4th.  not sure who finished where now will email the others

Victorian Schools Cycling Cup 26/09/10

Kaylagh got second and raced well all day.  Had a bad gate in the final but got through for a good second.

Max got around 6th  he raced hard all day

Jesse fought hard with another rider and while winning the final came second by ½ a wheel

Will raced well all day and got up for 3rd in the final which was a really good effort especially after crashing in one of the moto’s

James was in fire in the 10 – 11 boys.  He won his first moto and won his second after a massive battle with one of the states top riders who just made the junior development squad for 11 boys (James is 10 boys) before having is result changed to last as he crossed the white line in berm 2 so he went and beat him again in moto 3.  He came away with a 5th overall after a shocking gate in the main but he still was only beaten by the 11 boys riders

Clubby 5/6/10

As the numbers were a little low to run a clubby some bright spark suggested that we hold a time trial instead!!!  1 at a time we lined up in gate 3 and went our hardest around the track with a split time on the roller on the pro straight here are the results.  We now have these to compare later on to see if we are improving!

2010 Australian Titles

A few of the Warriors made the trip to Shepparton for the Aussies.  The Shepparton Club have definitely set the standard for clubs to come!  The track was looking spectacular.  The council supplied marquees,  although a controversy to start with, ended up being a great addition for the spectators. The canteen was fast with a good range of food and drinks at a descent price.  The whole meeting flowed really well.

The racing was fast and furious.  The elite men going through the pro section were definitely a site to be seen, they are some huge jumps!  I believe all the Warriors rode well and should be happy with their results, except maybe Gary who over jumped 1 of the doubles in the 2nd straight while leading to end up 2nd, missing out on his 1st ever 1A plate!!  Jordy in his 20" final started on the outside, had an awesome 1st straight but ended up being pushed wide in the 1st turn and had a few riders come up the inside

ACT TITLES RACE REPORT 2010

only 3 warriors made the trip to the ACT titles for 2010 the track was all new however heavy rain had made it very spongy and slow early in the day, jordan rode his second AA race in tuff field, especially with 6th in the 1st moto but he backed it up with 4th, 1st, 5th to put him in the semi, with the likes of chasty and leigh darrel out allready that was a measure of the quality field.   a low gate pick put him in lane 7, his start and first straight pull was his best of the weekend putting him level with billy joliffe into the first turn getting pushed high still left him in third as they hit the 8.5m double on the second straight casing with the front wheel an then almost looping out down the back taking the edge of his momentum into turn two as three of them came together causing him to unclip that was race over despite continuing it was 5th in the semi, but a promising showing all the same. with good placings in his moto,s jesse was on course to make the finals but due to officials calling the riders onto the gate not using a microphone in the poorly organised lane calling debarcle he missed his race and they gave him 10 points for the dns giving him no chance to advance further. Thats a tough one to swallow! as for me the 3 roll around laps we got for practice (without the gate) made it hard to find a rythm on a difficult track, with 1W and 1A fighting it out for 1st in most races, i made the final with 5th pick nearly missed the race with a very late warm up then when i got on the gate jordy spotted my helmet was undone, (theres a lesson there)so i had a outside gate a good start, got held wide into the first corner forth down the second straight with 1A taking out 1W i was in with a shout going into the last corner but 1A was too good shuting me down i was happy with 3rd in my last ACT,s in this age group  cheers gary

Victorian Open State Titles

The Victorian State titles were held over the weekend at the Eastfield track in Croydon.  Sprocket and cruiser classes were run on Sat 28th and the 20" were ran on the Sunday.

Track and conditions could not be have been better on the Saturday, very little wind and the track was extremely fast.   All the warriors put in a great effort.  5 mins after the last race finished the heavens opened up and started dumping a major amount of water.  When we arrived on Sunday the carpark, spectator area and track were mud.  The track was extremely heavy making it very tiring making it around the whole track.

The racing over both days was extremely high, for example the 40-44 male cruiser final was an all Aussie affair, all but 1 rider was an Aussie plate holder!

I think all warriors rode well, especially Aidan Tucker, who after racing finished, was found to have had his brakes locked on from the mud stuck to the bike.  Gary had an unfortunate crash, thinking he heard the beeps, (the music was very loud and the beeps hard to hear), he took off and crashed over the gate which failed to drop!

5-4-09
Geelong Spectacular
Spectacular alright (the cross wind)  but it was a good meet with some great racing. Daves first big race against the
elite of the sport. He won a great runoff to make the semis, after hitting the gate hard and giving his opponent
a good lead he fought back hard with some good jumping  in poor conditions to win.

9-3-09
2009 ACT CHAMPIONSHIPS  held at the Tuggeranong track.
Beautiful weather for racing clear skies and a great track ( I might be a bit biased there)
as we were told the long start hill had for some very fast speeds into the step at the end of the
1st straight, then hang on into the berm Gary and the fast ones were getting around 47kph.
Too bloody quick for me. The track has 6 straights and is  fairly long but a nice flowing track.

Results:

1-12-08    Victorian State Tiltles Border

Another year has come and gone the state titles are over  with  all  of the Wyndham Warriors representing the club
to the best of their ability.  After all the rain on Friday and with the track so wet practice was called off on
Friday things werent looking so good,  but come Saturday the track was only slightly heavy early, it dried up very
quickly and by Sunday it perfect. Congratulations to all who rode and those that came away with a plate.
Jordy came away with the only No. 1 plate well done.
Special mention to Dave only raced a few times and came away with a V plate.
And a bit of late news Wayne Daniel has changed his name to
